Senior Vice President – Head of Brand and Digital Marketing / IMAX

Rich Guest is a global digital marketer who finds solutions to communication challenges at the point in a Venn diagram where creativity and technology overlap. Currently, Rich is the Senior Vice President – Head of Brand and Digital Marketing at IMAX where he is helping to re-invent the role of the brand in entertainment and introduce the future of immersive, theatrical experiences. Formerly, as Vice President – Head of Marketing Communications for Burger King North America, Rich led a team tasked with transforming the brand’s approach to media in the digital age. Over the course of 7 months, his team moved 40%+ of the brand’s nine figure paid media spend out of traditional, linear TV into digital channels generating incremental unique reach and tens of millions of dollars in cost savings. His teams also successfully launched a new chicken sandwich (the Ch’King) into a saturated category while driving sales growth and winning multiple Cannes Lions for its digital radio campaign supporting the Impossible Whopper. Prior to Burger King, Rich spent the better part of 20 years working in positions of progressive responsibility at Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB) and its subsidiaries. He was President of the North American region at Tribal Worldwide, a leading digital marketing agency, from 2014 to 2018 before being appointed DDB’s Global Chief Digital Officer. In these roles, Rich led digital transformation projects for Unilever, marketing and creative transformation for Mars Inc, and social media transformation projects for AT&T. Additionally, during this time, his teams were some of the most awarded creators of digital-first advertising winning more than 40 prizes at the Cannes Lions Festival. Rich was personally recognized as one of Campaign’s “40 over 40 – individuals transforming and land with digital wizardry” (2019). Rich has completed Omnicom’s prestigious executive education program (Omnicom University – led by the faculty of Harvard Business School and Babson College) and earned a MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University as well as a BA with Honors from Indiana University Bloomington. He is a life-long Star Wars nerd, a fan of all things Batman, and a voracious reader of hard cover books.
